Learn The Art Of Impasto Style Painting:
More popularly known as the ‘Vincent Van Gogh’ style of art.
Impasto is a technique used in painting, where paint is laid on an area of the surface thickly, usually thick enough that brush or palette strokes are visible. When dry, impasto provides a texture; the paint appears to be raised and standing out on the surface of the canvas making it appear like 3D art.

Join the mixed media impasto artist Pam Singh of pamsinghstudio.com and learn to paint the Van Gogh Way.
This beginners class will teach you how to paint a variety of flowers and leaves in an impressionist style with bold strokes. Pam will provide demonstrations paired with step by step guided instructions and you will practice each new technique alongside with her.
By the end of this 6 session course, you will have learnt the following:
- Introduction to impasto painting
- Color Wheel Study
- Basic use of materials and where to buy
- How to create basic 6 unique color palettes of your choice
- How to sketch basic art pre-painting
- How to use basic brushes and palette knives to paint
- How to create beautiful impasto paintings
- Finishing and final touches
- Safe paint drying techniques
- Signing your artwork
- How to wire and make art ready to hang
- How to take best pictures of your art using your phone
At the end of the 6 session course you will receive a certificate of successful completion from Pam Singh Studio and will take home 6 beautiful pieces of artwork in different sizes that you learnt and created in the class. You will have the opportunity to enhance your skills through the advance course with Pam Singh Studio at the McDowell Art Center or continue self-practice at your own pace.

Pam Singh Studio is happy to provide all materials (for in class use only) needed for this course, including all the sketch pencils, easers, sharpeners, paints, brushes, palette knives, color palettes, easels and canvases you will need to work with during the course duration.

- Your own apron
- 8 pairs of disposable gloves
